Services Provided: Survey, geotechnical, structural, and design options for trenchless crossing of FCDMC improved levees by horizontal directional drilling or hand-tunneled jack and bore, FCDMC and USACE 404 permitting, MCDOT and City of Peoria permitting and structural design.
Project Description: CVL provided design, permitting and CMAR coordination for a parallel 24-inch (inverted) sewer siphon across the New River at Olive Avenue. The siphon conveys almost all wastewater flows leaving Sun City (up to 8 MGD) to the interceptor at 99th Avenue. Services include survey, geotechnical, structural, and design options for trenchless crossing of FCDMC improved levees by horizontal directional drilling or hand-tunneled jack and bore, FCDMC and USACE 404 permitting, MCDOT and City of Peoria permitting and structural design.
Construction planning includes phasing to construct the siphon and tie-into the 99th Avenue interceptor in a new location, bypass existing flows, construct gated siphon inlet structure and connect new structure to the siphon and upstream sewer.
