Fuel Distribution Design & Permitting
Caljet/ Railjet
Phoenix, Ariz.
Project Size: 10 acres
Project Description: Caljet needed to expand their existing fuel distribution facility for large suppliers and gasoline distributors serving greater Phoenix. Caljet blends fuel with their proprietary additives and puts it in refiners’ trucks to be delivered to gas stations. This project consisted of the design of the open-cut installation of approximately 140 LF of 8-inch SCH 40 A-36 steel product lines.
Value Added: Caljet’s three terminals are at the intersection of the two supply lines to the greater Phoenix area, and are surrounded by other tank farms operated by big fuel companies. CVL performed all permitting coordination with the City of Phoenix, as well as right of way and easement coordination with the local utility, Salt River Project (SRP).
The product lines were placed in a 12-inch casing for double containment. Permits obtained included a Street Cut permit and Right-of-Entry from the City. CVL performed topographical, and ALTA survey, and legal descriptions for the SRP and nearby Union Pacific Railway.
